As I’ve mentioned before, I love the Cracked website. Today one of their columnists tackles the very unfunny subject of just how completely the poor are fucked in modern America, and does it with Cracked’s patented mix of good information and irreverent humor.
An example of the good information: I knew that payday-loan places offered shitty deals that preyed on the poor, but I’d never considered how one might go get a payday loan, knowing it was a bad deal, because the “deals” offered by the bank, the credit card company, and the utility are so much worse.
